Many people think that regions affect personal success. What is your opinion about the native region’s influence on a person’s success and also an accomplished person’s influence on the region he belongs to? Give suitable examples.

Success in life depends upon several factors, some within the control of an individual and some beyond. The place where a person is born is one factor on which we don’t have any control. Some people think a person’s native region has a huge influence on his success. I concur with this view and also believe that a successful person in return can also influence his native region. In the following paragraphs I will discuss this in more detail.

Undoubtedly, the place where a person is born determines the kind of opportunities for development that a person gets early on in life. People from remote regions often move to big cities due to the lack of such opportunities in their hometowns. Being born in the right place can mean better education, better job opportunities and a prosperous and forward looking social network. For instance, in India a disproportionately large percentage of millionaires come from cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

However, a successful person can also exert a massive influence on his native place. It is common to see rich and famous entrepreneurs setting up schools and hospitals in their places of birth. They also serve as an inspiration for others to work hard and come up in life. There is nothing more motivating than a small town person becoming immensely successful and then changing the face of his town.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that while the native place has a definite influence on the success and growth of a person, a successful person can also impact his native place in a similar manner.
